If it is something I absolutely can’t stand…

it is having my professional reports corrected. I know I suck at writing. It has never been one of my strongest areas. I can’t  create topic sentences or a flowing paragraph. My writing is a jumbled mess of my sporadic thoughts!

Yes its that time of year at the clinic. Progress report time. I have 40 reports to write, edit, re-edit, re-edit again and again and again because I know I am going to need that! =/ Definitely not happy about it and my stress level is at an 8. However, I am determined to get through this.

Cant wait for August and Costa Rica, baby.

We love you Maurice

“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, ‘Dear Jim: I loved your card.’ Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, ‘Jim loved your card so much he ate it.’ That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.” -M.S.

RIP Maurice Sendak

If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t know it well enough yet.

Fold a square napkin on a diagonal
Then fold in half along the diagonal
Fold in half again

I had a four day weekend. It was a nice little vacation from work if I do say so myself! However, I am pretty bumed our trip to Disneyland got cancelled. At least I got to visit family this weekend.

Babe and I made 4 Easter baskets and 3 gifts for the babies. He also went mad in the kitchen and stirred up some ham, mashpotatoes, and vegetables. I also baked some yummy snickerdoodles! I was very happy to send these few days off with the people I love to be around.

I got one more day to enjoy tomorrow before work starts again. Here’s the checklist I hope to check off:

  1. Gym
  2. Thrift store
  3. Pedicure and eyebrows waxed
  4. Clean house & do more laundy (does this ever end?)

Number 4 is going to kill me. :/

Just bought my first sewing machine. I have always wanted one of these. But if you were ever looking to purchase a sewing machine, you’d know these aren’t cheap! However, being the deal woman that I am… I got one for $40 bucks and free shipping. I am so excited for this to arrive at my door step. No more tedious sewing by hand.

A Social Thinking Concept

Ever since puberty, ever since I was 11 or 12, I’ve had cyclical depression. That’s something that has been a defining feature of my life as an adult. It’s manageable. But it’s real. And it doesn’t take away from my joy or my work or my energy, but coping with depression is something that is part of the everyday way that I live and have lived for as long as I can remember. … Depression for me, you can’t distract your way out of it. … When you are depressed, it’s like the rest of the world is the mother ship, and you’re out there on a little pod and your line gets cut and you don’t connect with anything. You sort of disappear. And so it’s not something you can talk-therapy out of. It’s really a chemical thing. You get adrenaline from work, but adrenaline is not a cure.

Rachel Maddow on depression (via nprfreshair)

I heard Rachel Maddow on NPR- Fresh Air (yes, I listen to NPR) this past week. This quote was definitely interesting. Helps me understand some of my clients a little better.
